City stars do not worry Bowyer
Gary Bowyer wants Blackburn's defenders to test themselves against a world-class strike force when they face Manchester City again in the FA Cup.
Rovers held the Premier League side to a 1-1 draw in the original third-round tie and City boss Manuel Pellegrini has hinted that Sergio Aguero could return from injury in Wednesday night's replay at the Etihad.
The prospect of facing a fit-again Aguero has not unnerved Bowyer, who is keen to see how centre-backs Scott Dann and Grant Hanley will cope when pitted against the Argentinian and the rest of his big-name team-mates.
"Mr Pellegrini has a problem to fit Aguero, (Edin) Dzeko, (David) Silva, (Alvaro) Negredo in the same forward line, hopefully not all of them at the same time," said the Rovers boss.
"I meant it, Aguero's an outstanding talent and it would have been a great challenge for Scott and Grant to pit themselves against him. If he's playing - great."
Bowyer was the handed the job on a permanent basis in the summer and admits the trip to Manchester will be one of the highlights of his short managerial career so far.
"I'll be immensely proud for myself and the club to be able to do that but it's not about me, it's about the lads performing on the night," he said.
"Mr Pellegrini was fantastic after the (first) game, he was very complimentary. He's a very humble man and he's producing some fantastic players.
"We're just looking forward to the occasion and we've just got to go and enjoy it and give a good account of ourselves."
