Clark is chasing fresh faces
Lee Clark is doing all he can to bring fresh faces into Birmingham City, says assistant manager Terry McDermott.
With funds in short supply at St Andrew's, the Blues have had to dip into the loan market on a regular basis.
They have been able to complete productive business, but short-term agreements are never ideal.
Dan Burn and Jesse Lingard have come and gone after impressing in the Midlands, with the pair having returned to Fulham and Manchester United, respectively.
Swansea City defender Kyle Bartley remains, but he is nursing a knock and Clark has been left with little choice but to go asking for further favours from rival bosses.
McDermott said in the Birmingham Mail after Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Yeovil Town: "One thing about Lee is he works his socks off to bring people into this club.
"It is difficult, but he is always on the phone, always talking to other managers.
"You lose two players through going back to their own clubs and lose Kyle Bartley through an injury. You are three men down straight away.
"When you look at Dan Burn and Kyle, they are two big lads at centre-back and now we are playing two smaller lads at centre-back and they (Yeovil) had three or four big towering lads in there - they were very dominant in the air, which made it a little more difficult for us."
