Clear-out at Gills
Gillingham have released a dozen players including Charlie Lee, Steven Gregory and Myles Weston.
Boss Peter Taylor launched a clear-out after the Gills managed to steer clear of relegation last season, eventually finishing in 17th place.
Sam Baxter, George Howard, Gary Borrowdale, Joe Carter, Craig Fagan, Adam Birchall, Stephen Butcher and Sam Muggleton have also departed along with Nathan Nyafli, who was forced to announce his retirement through injury in February.
Taylor has offered new contracts to Adebayo Akinfenwa and Chris Whelpdale while Danny Kedwell and Stuart Nelson have already signed two-year deals.
A statement on the club's website read: "Gillingham FC would like to thank all the players who are leaving the club for their hard work and dedication while with us, and we wish them the best of luck in their future."
