Clough eyeing Derby momentum
Nigel Clough has stressed the importance of Derby's remaining matches this month, particularly those at Pride Park.
The Rams have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the season, drawing their opening Championship fixture at home to Blackburn before away wins at Oldham in the Capital One Cup and Brighton in the league.
Next up for Clough's team is East Midlands rivals Leicester at Pride Park on Saturday before a trip to newly-promoted Yeovil the following weekend and further home games against Brentford (August 27) and Burnley (August 31).
Clough believes negotiating those fixtures with their unbeaten record still intact will set Derby up for a good first half of the campaign.
"It's a big three games for us, four if you include the Capital One Cup tie with Brentford, even at this stage of the season," said Clough.
"We are trying to build some momentum and we feel we are doing that. With three out of the next four being at home it's big for us and if we can win them then it can set us up for a good run, probably until Christmas with the points we would have on the board.
"We have got to do our business at Pride Park. We've had back-to-back away wins so now we want to give our home fans their first win."
