Clough: Play-offs a long shot
Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough concedes it would be a "long shot" for his side to make the League One play-offs.
The Blades, who drew 0-0 with Brentford on Tuesday, fell nine points behind sixth-placed Peterborough after Posh beat Colchester and with nine games to go, Clough knows it is a big ask.
"It might be a bit beyond us, we won't give it up just yet," he said.
"It was a bit of a long shot after losing at the weekend, but we have two good games in Leyton Orient and Rotherham to look forward to."
The Blades played well against the second-placed Bees, perhaps doing enough to win the game, and that performance came on the back of a spirited one against champions-elect Wolves a couple of weeks ago.
And Clough believes that has been a good yardstick for his side.
"I think we are a little bit behind the top two. But it would be good to see us when we can get our full-strength team out. We are not too far off."
