Coleman: Dale must up tempo

Rochdale boss John Coleman has called on his players to 'up the tempo' in order to win over the Spotland faithful.

Dale yielded a two-goal lead at Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday, but it is his side's home form which is troubling Coleman the most.

"We've taken two points from our last two home games, and that's not good enough," he told the Manchester Evening News. "You're not going to get anywhere in this league like that. We have got to up the tempo somehow.

"We only had ourselves to blame. We have got to be more enthusiastic at home, we've got to get the fans buying into what we are doing.

"The fans must be frustrated because they can see a team that is brimming with talent waiting for things to happen rather than going and forcing the play.

"We have got to be more on the front foot, got to be more positive and dynamic at home. That enthuses people and makes them want to come. We've shown we can do it on more than one occasion, and we've got to do it consistently."
