Coleman rues first-half display
Rochdale boss John Coleman felt the reason for his side's 2-1 defeat to Morecambe was a "woeful" performance in the first half from his troops.
Former Dale player Jack Redshaw scored either side of the break to fire the Shrimps into a two-goal lead and although George Donnelly pulled one back for the home side, Morecambe held on for a deserved victory.
Coleman said: "I was disappointed with the first half performance, I thought we were woeful in the first half. We had a great chance early on but their goalkeeper made a world-class save.
"We had a bit of bad luck with Kevin McIntyre's effort which took a double ricochet off the woodwork and we had one that just squirmed wide off their lad.
"But without playing really well we haven't occupied them and they've had a lot of ball in our half. We didn't start the second half anywhere near as well as we should do, conceded a soft second goal and then battered them for the last half an hour. But it was too little, too late by then.
"On the balance of chances, it was probably even but their goalkeeper has made two top-class saves while our keeper hasn't made one."
