Colsaerts and Gonzalez off to fliers
Nicolas Colsaerts and Ricardo Gonzalez raced into a share of the early clubhouse lead on the opening day of the Italian Open in Turin.
Both men were among the early starters and took full advantage with seven-under-par rounds of 65.
Ryder Cup player Colsaerts hit a bogey on the ninth hole - his first - but followed up with a run of six straight birdies.
He added another birdie at 18, before a steady back nine was concluded with another gain at the last.
Gonzalez has missed three cuts in a row since finishing as runner-up at the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles, but looked in fine form as he six five birdies, one bogey and an eagle at the 12th.
The pair were one stroke clear of Germany's Maximilian Kieffer, who had a bogey and six birdies through 16 holes, while England's Richard Finch was on five under through 13 holes having racked up seven birdies either side of a double-bogey on the par-four 14th.
