Cook fumes at sorry Stanley

A shellshocked Paul Cook made his post-match contribution a brief one after watching Accrington go down 5-0 at Oxford in League Two.

James Constable helped himself to four goals on Saturday as the U's ran riot at the Kassam Stadium and handed Cook's Stanley a third straight loss.

Cook was very reluctant to speak to the media afterwards, and would only say: "You have to pay a lot of respect to the opposition. To say we're hurting is an understatement. It's not good enough.

"People have travelled a long way to support us and the only reason I'm speaking is out of respect to those supporters.

"But I can't offer an explanation. We are a group though. We win together and we lose together.

"I'm not talking about the game, I'm just saying a few words out of respect to our supporters."
