Cook happy to take a point

Paul Cook was content with a point after Chesterfield came from behind to draw 1-1 in their top-of-the-table clash at Scunthorpe.

Scunthorpe, who went into the game on the back of a 14-match unbeaten run, went in front in the 14th minute when Sam Winnall scored from close range.

Chesterfield drew level just before the interval when Eoin Doyle netted from the penalty spot after Richie Humphreys was taken down by Terry Hawkridge.

"Overall it has been another good day for us. I think overall a draw is a fair result," said Spireites boss Cook.

"I thought we were the better team in the first half but in the second it was Scunthorpe who were in the ascendancy.

"They are a good side, who have done well since Russ Wilcox took charge.

"They have been on a good run, so to come here and come from behind to take a point from them is a good result for us.

"It keeps us on top of the table and for us, it's another good point along the way to where we want to be at the end of the season.

"We are talking about promotion, that's the aim for all the teams up there near the top of the table.

"Nothing was going to be decided today, but we have chalked off another big game against one of our main rivals."
