Cook returns for England

England captain Alastair Cook was passed fit to return in the third Royal London one-day international against Sri Lanka at Old Trafford.

Cook missed England's heavy defeat in Durham with a groin strain on Sunday, when the tourists levelled the five-match series at 1-1.

But he was back in Manchester, England's sole change with Michael Carberry making way at the top of the order.

Cook won the toss and chose to bowl first in a match delayed by bad weather to a 2.20pm start but with no reduction in overs yet.

Sri Lanka made one change to their winning team, left-arm spinner Rangana Herath coming in for seamer Dhammika Prasad.
