Cooper feeling Christmas spirit

Swindon manager Mark Cooper rewarded his players for their 2-1 win at home to Coventry by giving them Christmas Day off.

Miles Storey came off the bench to grab a dramatic 86th-minute winner as the Robins came from behind to maintain their push for a play-off place.

Cooper said: "The win is the best this season without a doubt and as a result we are going to trust them and give them Christmas Day off.

"It was a fantastic game between two really good teams - the best team we've played. Their forwards are very good and we did well to keep it to one goal.

"They were better in the first half and we made some radical changes. I decided to open the game up and see if we could win it - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

"We've been open like that away from home and got beat but they showed they can have a bit of balance. We had to defend a lot at times because it was end-to-end but it was enjoyable to watch."

Coventry looked set to claim the points after striker Leon Clarke opened the scoring against his old club six minutes into the second half.

Yaser Kasim equalised for the hosts 13 minutes from time before sub Storey grabbed the winner four minutes from time.

The win could have been more emphatic had Kasim's deflected effort in the dying minutes not struck a post.
