Cornet qualifies in Bogota

Second seed Alize Cornet was among the first round winners in the Copa Claro Colsanitas in Bogota.

The French woman defeated Ukraine's Elina Svitolina 6-2 7-6(6) in one of four opening round fixtures.

Cornet's compatriot Mathilde Johansson also progressed with a 6-4 2-6 6-3 success over Canadian Stephane Dubois.

Luxembourg's Mandy Minella was also a straight sets winner, 6-4 6-3 over Tatjana Malek, while Nina Bratchikova went down 7-5 6-2 to Paula Ormaechea of Argentina.
