County suspend academy boss

Notts County have suspended the club's academy manager Mick Leonard, with an internal investigation still on-going.

The former County goalkeeper, who made more than 200 league games for the club between 1979 and 1988, has worked with the academy at Meadow Lane since 2008.

A club statement read: "Notts County can confirm that academy manager Mick Leonard has been suspended pending an investigation.

"The club would like to stress that there is no disciplinary action being taken against Mick Leonard at present.

"However, as the investigation is on-going, we will be making no further comment at this stage."
