Coventry chalked up a fourth successive Elite League win, beating Edinburgh 5-2 to move to within two points of third-placed Nottingham.
The picture is not so rosy for their Scottish opponents, though, who have now lost six games in a row and are five points adrift at the bottom.
Steve Chalmers, Dustin Cameron, Benn Olson, Jerraime Domish and Russell Cowley all scored for the home side, while Marcis Zembergs and Curtis Leinweber responded.
