Crawley set to appoint Gregory
John Gregory is set to be appointed as the new manager of League One side Crawley Town, according to reports on Monday.
The former Aston Villa and Derby manager will end his six-year exile from English football by succeeding Richie Barker at the League One club.
Since leaving Queens Park Rangers in 2007, Gregory has had stints in charge of Israeli clubs Maccabi Ahi Nazareth and Ashdod, and Kazakhstan side Kairat.
Crawley dismissed Barker last week after a third consecutive draw, with striker Gary Alexander taking charge of last Saturday's 1-0 loss to Crewe.
The Red Devils, who are without a win in eight games, sit 15th in League One, five points above the relegation zone and nine points off the play-off places.
Gregory's first game in charge will be an FA Cup second-round tie away to Bristol Rovers on Saturday.
