Crosse in the wars at Exeter
David Crosse is reported to have suffered three broken ribs in a fall at Exeter.
The jockey was aboard War Treaty in the opening Higos For Your Commercial Insurance Novices' Selling Hurdle when he was unshipped at the first flight and kicked by another horse.
Screens were erected around the rider and the hurdle was omitted on the second circuit while Crosse was being treated.
He was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for further assessment and his agent Russ James has been told Crosse suffered rib injuries.
He said: "As far as I'm aware, he's broken three ribs and they're checking his cheekbone - I've been texted by one of the jockeys there.
"He is sitting up and talking, though."
Crosse's fall came just 24 hours after the rider had ended 366 days on the cold list with a winner at Fontwell.
