Crosse taken to hospital

David Crosse was taken to has been taken to hospital for further examination after suffering a fall at Exeter.

The jockey was aboard War Treaty in the opening Higos For Your Commercial Insurance Novices' Selling Hurdle when he was unshipped at the first flight.

Screens were erected around the rider and the hurdle was omitted on the second circuit while Crosse was being treated.

Clerk of the course Barry Johnson said: "He's been taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital for further checks."

Crosse's fall came just 24 hours after the rider had ended 366 days on the cold list with a winner at Fontwell.
