Dale getting Lynch up to speed

Rochdale assistant boss Chris Beech has told fans they may have to be patient before seeing latest signing Craig Lynch in action.

Dale signed the 21-year-old former Sunderland striker on non-contract terms earlier this week, subject to Football League approval.

"He's got a good pedigree after coming through a top class academy at Sunderland," Beech told the club's official website.

"Craig has an understanding, as we do, that he has got to get up to Rochdale tempo and that is going to take him three to four weeks.

"So from a supporters' point of view I'd just ask for a little bit of patience because they might not get to know him quite so soon."

Lynch, recently released by Sunderland, came through the Black Cats' academy and made two substitute appearances at the end of the 2010/11 season. He made six appearances for Hartlepool while on loan there last season.
