De Bromhead eyes JLT Gold tilt
Henry de Bromhead views the JLT Novices' Chase as the more likely Cheltenham Festival target for Sizing Gold.
The seven-year-old beat the well-regarded Mullaghanoe River on his chasing bow at Navan in December but then had to settle for a seven-length second behind Foxrock when upped to Grade Two level and three miles at Naas at the weekend.
De Bromhead will talk plans through with owners Alan and Ann Potts, and consider a drop back in trip.
He said: "I was hoping he would see out the three miles, but he just didn't.
"We have entered him for two novice races at Cheltenham, the two and a half (the JLT, formerly known as the Jewson) and the three-mile (the RSA Chase).
"I don't know, you'd probably be leaning towards the Jewson at the moment but we will see. I don't think he will run again between now and then."
