
Former England striker Brian Deane has been appointed as the head coach of Norwegian side Sarpsborg.
The 44-year-old, who had been working at Leeds University, will take the reins of the club who were this season promoted to Norway's top flight.
"I am looking forward to putting my stamp on this job," Deane told the club's official website.
Deane won three caps for England and is famous for scoring the first goal in the history of the Premier League.

By saying the word black it immediately causes segregation. Shame because it was a nice bit of news about a young English manager learning the ropes. And you ruined it

Good to see a black manager getting a chance. Pity no teams in this country were willing to take a chance on him though.
