Top seed Juan Martin Del Potro sailed into the semi-finals of the Erste Bank Open in Vienna after a 6-2 6-2 win over Marinko Matosevic.
The Argentine took just one hour and 13 minutes to see off his Australian opponent, dropping only three points on his powerful first serve.
Matosevic was broken twice in each set and even though he was able to fashion a couple of belated break points when Del Potro was serving for the match, he could not convert and the contest was soon over.
Del Potro will face Gilles Muller in the semi-finals after the Luxembourger recorded a straightforward 6-3 6-4 win over Paolo Lorenzi.
Second seed Janko Tipsarevic also cruised into the last four after his quarter-final opponent Aljaz Bedene retired from their clash.
Serbian Tipsarevic held a comfortable 6-2 4-2 lead when his Slovenian opponent pulled out with a thigh injury at the 63-minute mark.
Tipsarevic, who played in Shanghai last week and competed in the singles and doubles on Thursday, was pleased with his early finish on Friday.
"I had an easy day and I really needed it. After my matches and stretching last night, I finished at about 1:30am," he said.
