Delhi suffer crushing defeat

Despite a first ILP half century of the season from Kevin Pietersen the Delhi Daredevils still suffered a crushing seven wicket defeat the hands of tournament leaders Kings XI Punjab.

Manan Vohra and David Miller both scored 47 runs as they guided the Kings XI to their target of 115 runs for the loss of just three wickets with six overs to spare in Mohali.

The result meant that the much-fancied Daredevils suffered their ninth straight defeat and they've now lost all nine matches they've played in India this season.

Former England batsman Pietersen struck nine fours on his way to 58 before being bowled lbw by Shikhar Dhawan.

The Daredevils could only muster a paltry 57 further runs as wickets tumbled around Pietersen, who apologised to the Delhi supporters after the match.

"It's been an enjoyable experience, but on the field there's been a lot of not-so-good stuff."
