Derby County v Wigan preview
Derby will once more check on Jeff Hendrick before Wigan visit the iPro Stadium on Wednesday.
Hendrick was absent for a second match against Barnsley on Sunday as he continued his recovery from a bout of concussion and the midfielder will again be assessed.
Johnny Russell was handed only his second start since coming back from a broken leg at Oakwell, replacing fellow forward Jamie Ward, and completed the full 90 minutes. Head Coach Steve McClaren must decide whether two games in the space of four days will be too much for the Scot, with a recall for Ward likely.
Full-back Kieron Freeman, strikers Conor Sammon and Mason Bennett and midfielder Kalifa Cisse are also options for McClaren should he feel the need to make further changes to his starting XI.
Meanwhile, on-loan forward Nick Powell is Wigan's biggest concern as they travel to in-form Derby.
Manchester United and England Under-21 forward Powell, whose immediate future remains a hot topic around the DW Stadium, missed out against Birmingham on Boxing Day with a hamstring injury but played all 90 minutes versus Burnley three days later.
However, with that game finishing 0-0, boss Uwe Rosler admitted he was unable to take Powell off before the end as he had planned, although he is hopeful the striker will show no reaction to the strain in the intervening period.
Rosler, whose side definitely remain without Shaun Maloney (shoulder), Gary Caldwell (hip) and Juan Carlos Garcia (ankle), will have winger Jean Beausejour back from a one-game suspension but Ben Watson is nursing a foot injury and goalkeeper Scott Carson (thigh) is among those who have been absent of late.
