Derby v Blackpool preview

Team news ahead of Saturday's Championship clash between Derby and Blackpool at Pride Park.

Derby midfielder Craig Bryson missed the 3-0 defeat at Peterborough with a tight hamstring but the 25-year-old resumed full training on Wednesday and should be fit for the weekend.

"It was a boost to have Craig back on the training pitch, especially as he's such an influential player in the team," said Rams coach Andy Garner.

"We'll be guided by the medical team but we expect he will be available for selection, which will be a big boost."

Frank Fielding could also be available after missing the last four games with a groin strain. However, despite his error for Peterborough's second goal last Saturday, Nigel Clough has already stated that Adam Legzdins will retain the goalkeeper's jersey.

Defender Jake Buxton will serve a one-match suspension following his red card at London Road.

Forward Jamie Ward will not be fit enough to make his comeback from the hamstring tear that has ruled him out of the last five matches.

Blackpool are set to welcome back veteran striker Kevin Phillips.

Phillips has been sidelined with a calf complaint in recent weeks and Seasiders boss Ian Holloway bemoaned the absence of the 39-year-old's predatory instincts as his side spurned a succession of chances to take three points during last weekend's 1-1 draw with Brighton at Bloomfield Road.

But the former England international is set to feature at some stage against the Rams and will hope to add to his solitary goal so far this season at Hull - the last time Holloway's men tasted victory five games ago.

Craig Cathcart remains absent at centre-back with a calf complaint of his own, while back-up goalkeeper Matt Halstead is laid low with illness. Chris Kettings is expected to be named on the bench in his absence.

Elliot Grandin hopes to retain his place in the side after marking his first start of the season with a goal against Brighton - the third time the French midfielder has found the net in as many appearances.
