Derbyshire demolish Hants

Derbyshire duo Wayne Madsen and Wes Durston both cracked centuries to inspire the Falcons to a thumping 136-run victory over Hampshire in their Royal London One Day Cup opener.

Captain Madsen made 138 and Durston 134 as the pair shared a record 222-run partnership for the third wicket in Derbyshire's 340-5 batting first.

The pair shared 30 boundaries and cleared the rope once each as Hampshire's bowlers toiled in ideal batting conditions.

The target always looked an ominous one and despite a strong start, Michael Carberry's 55 ended up as the top-score for the Royals, who were bundled out for 204 in the 35th over as spinner David Wainwright helped himself to 4-34.

In Group B, Glamorgan's one-day renaissance continued with a comfortable seven-wicket win over Middlesex at the Swalec Stadium.

The Panthers found themselves in huge trouble on 90-8 after being asked to bat first but rallied through an 84-run partnership from Neil Dexter (43 not out) and Steven Finn (42no) to post 174-3.

The total was still well below-par, though, and Glamorgan powered past it in just 36.2 overs thanks to half-centuries from openers Jim Allenby (70) and Jacques Rudolph (61).

Australian seamer Michael Hogan and David Lloyd, playing his first 50-over match, claimed three wickets apiece for the Welsh county.
