Dettori suffers sprained ankle
Frankie Dettori will have to prove his fitness to ride Treve in Sunday's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after suffering a fall at Nottingham.
The jockey was unshipped from Eland Ally prior to the 32Red.com Handicap and was unable to put any weight on his right ankle as he attempted to get to his feet.
Dettori returned to the Nottingham medical room in a wheelchair and was stood down for the rest of the day.
Course doctor Chris Reynolds initially suggested the rider had suffered a sprained ankle and that it was "definitely a possibility" he could make a full recovery by the weekend.
However, Reynolds later confirmed the jockey had gone to hospital for precautionary X-rays.
He said: "He has now gone for a precautionary X-ray in Newmarket."
Dettori rode the Criquette Head-Maarek-trained Treve for the first time in competitive action in last month's Prix Vermeille.
The filly is a best-priced 9-2 second favourite for the Arc.
