Diarra's QPR move collapses

Lassana Diarra's proposed move to QPR is off - less than 48 hours after Harry Redknapp said the deal was done.

Diarra was in London at the weekend to finalise a transfer from Lokomotiv Moscow after agreement between the clubs was apparently reached.

But Sky sources understand a late hitch - as yet unexplained - means the deal will not now go through on deadline day.

The news will be a major disappointment to Redknapp, who signed the France midfielder during his time as Portsmouth boss and later sold him to Real Madrid for more than 20million.

Speaking on Saturday, Redknapp said: "He's signed. I think everything is agreed. He was down with the chairman last night and I am just delighted to have him.

"He's a top, top, top player."
