Dimitrov marches on in Gstaad
Grigor Dimitrov's outstanding summer continued as he made it to the semi-finals of the Suisse Open Gstaad with a 6-3 6-2 win over Lukasz Kubot.
Dimitrov, 21, has now made it to the semis of three ATP World Tour events since June, following strong showings in the AEGON Championships in London and the Swedish Open in Bastad last week.
Dimitrov, ranked 61st in the world, brushed aside Kubot inside 62 minutes by winning 79% of his service points.
"I'm happy I made it in two sets today," said Dimitrov on the ATP website.
"It's great to play my third semi-final in a few weeks. It's always difficult to make the next step, but I hope that I can win tomorrow and be in the final on Sunday."
Dimitrov will now face Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci, who was a 6-3 6-3 winner over fifth seed Feliciano Lopez.
Later, top seed Janko Tipsarevic breezed past qualifier Jan Hernych 6-2 6-1 while Paul-Henri Mathieu eventually overcame Ernests Gulbis 4-6 6-1 6-4.
