Dodig wins all-Croatian clash

Ivan Dodig prevailed in three sets against Ivo Karlovic in an all-Croatian second-round clash at the Zagreb Indoors on Thursday night.

Dodig booked a quarter-final against reigning champion Mikhail Youzhny after prevailing 7-6 (7/2) 6-7 (2/7) 6-3 against his big-hitting countryman.

Dodig, the 2011 champion, was joined in the last eight by compatriot and top seed Marin Cilic, who had little trouble in overcoming Slovenia's Grega Zemlja 6-2 6-3.

Austrian fourth seed Jurgen Melzer defeated India's Somdev Devvarman 1-6 7-6 (7/5) 6-2, but fifth seed Martin Klizan of Slovakia and Cyprus' Marcos Baghdatis, seeded sixth, crashed out in three sets against Holland's Robin Haase and Slovenia's Blaz Kavcic respectively.

Germany's Philipp Petzschner was a straight-sets victor over Croatia's Dino Marcan and Czech Lukas Rosol beat Italy's Flavio Cipolla 6-4 2-6 6-3.
