Donald retains Dunlop cushion

Luke Donald will take a four-shot lead into the final round of the Dunlop Phoenix tournament in Japan.

The 34-year-old Englishman started the third round with a four-shot cushion and he maintained that advantage thanks to a level-par 71 at the Phoenix Country Club.

World No 3 Donald, who is playing in the Japan Tour event for the first time since 2007, offset three bogeys with three birdies to finish on 13-under 200.

Australian Brendan Jones (67) is tied for second with Japan's Shunsuke Sonoda (71).

Local duo Hirohito Koizumi (68) and Hiroyuki Fujita (70) are tied for fourth, five strokes behind Donald.

Ryo Ishikawa, who won last week's Taiheiyo Masters, carded a disappointing 73 to finish in a tie for 35th place.

Alvaro Quiros shares 10th place on five under after shooting a 69, while his fellow Spaniard Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano is on two under after a 70, one ahead of Belgium's Nicolas Colsaerts (72).
