Double delight for Worthington

York City manager Nigel Worthington hailed his side as they recorded back-to-back wins for only the second time this season.

The Minstermen found themselves under the cosh early on but a goal from Ryan Bowman and a brace from Wes Fletcher was enough to seal a 3-1 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge.

Successive wins have seen City climb to 17th place in the League 2 table and Worthington has challenged his team to keep the run going.

He said: "Performance-wise it was not a million miles away from where we were five days ago, but results-wise the wins have changed our position in the league. If we focus fully and concentrate, then we won't be far away from where we want to get to in the league.

"We had a few half-chances and they had some good chances in the first half which we got away with. We lifted the tempo and when you score that re-energizes you and we got two more which was pleasing.

"The goal against us was the only blip because it would have been nice to win 3-0.

"When you win games you must keep the momentum going. Today is history and we now move on to the Northampton game. We've got to make sure we roll our sleeves up, be strong, be determined and we'll go again."
