Drogheda defeat for MK Dons
MK Dons' tour of Ireland continued with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Drogheda on Tuesday evening.
The winning strike came four minutes from time against a Dons team which included only one change from the side that started the 6-0 victory over St James's Gate just 24 hours previously, with David Martin replacing Ian McLoughlin in goal.
Dele Alli came closest to scoring for the men from Milton Keynes with a penalty which was expertly saved, while Danny Green saw a curling 20-yard free-kick hit the woodwork.
Karl Robinson's side created the better chances but were unable to find a way past the Irish Premier Division team's dogged defence, and were then caught on the counter-attack in the 86th minute when Carl Walshe fired home from inside the box.
