Du Plessis to skipper Proteas

Faf du Plessis will captain South Africa in Tuesday's second one-day international with New Zealand in Kimberley (starts 12.30pm GMT).

Du Plessis replaces AB de Villiers who was given a two-match suspension because of South Africa's slow over-rate in the opening ODI in Paarl where the Kiwis won a thriller by one wicket.

The absence of De Villiers opens up a place in the batting order and David Miller and Farhaan Behardien are in direct competition to fill it.

Miller, who was superb in Yorkshire's run to the Friends Life t20 final last summer, was called up as De Villiers' replacement in the squad and he said: "It's a fantastic feeling - it's been a while since I last played ODI cricket but for me it's a great honour to be back in the green and gold.

"It's another opportunity for me so I really hope I make good use of it."

Dale Steyn has been given a breather by the selectors so Morne Steyn is likely to take his place.
