Ducks bounce back with win

The Anaheim Ducks bounced back from their defeat last time out by edging out Western Conference rivals the St Louis Blues 3-2.

Ryan Getzlaf struck for the 25th time this season and goals in the second period from Matt Beleskey and Cam Fowler gave the Ducks, who were defeated by the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night, a 3-0 lead.

Barret Jackman and Jaden Schwartz narrowed the deficit to to just one goal but Anaheim held on to get back to winning ways.

Joe Pavelski led the way for San Jose as his hat-trick inspired the Sharks to come from 4-2 down to earn a 5-4 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Matt Nieto and Patrick Marleau were also on the scoresheet for San Jose, with Martin St Louis scoring all four of Tampa's goals.

James van Riemsdyk and Joffrey Lupul scored in the final six minutes to lift the Toronto Maple Leafs to their fourth straight win after a tight 5-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.

Cody Franson, Phil Kessel and Mason Raymond were also on target for the Leafs while Brendan Gallagher, Brian Gionta and David Desharnais netted for Montreal.

Ryan Johansen played a key role in helping the Columbus Blue Jackets extend their winning streak to six matches.
