Dundee derby in League Cup
The draw for the third round of the Scottish League Cup has served up Dundee and Lanarkshire derbies.
Dundee United will host Dundee at Tannadice while Motherwell make the short journey across the M74 to play Hamilton, days before they host Accies in the Scottish Premiership.
Scottish Championship leaders Hearts have been handed a trip to Celtic Park while the winners of the second-round clash between Rangers and Inverness will travel to Falkirk.
Holders Aberdeen have been drawn at home to Livingston while Hibernian will travel to Dingwall to face Ross County following their comeback win against Dumbarton.
As well as the derbies, there are two other all-Premiership ties in the seeded draw - Kilmarnock host St Johnstone and Partick Thistle take on St Mirren at Firhill.
The games will take place on September 23-24 with Rangers meeting Inverness in the second round a week earlier on September 16 at Ibrox.
Rangers manager Ally McCoist admits they will need a more disciplined performance against the Scottish Premiership leaders than the one they produced in their 2-1 first-round win over Queens Park on Tuesday.
"Let's be honest, the way things are shaping up, we have a home tie against the in-form team in the country at the moment. They are top of the league for a reason.
"They haven't lost a goal in the league and are playing really, really well.
"So we will certainly have to have a lot more discipline in that particular game, but the main thing is we have an opportunity to play them."
Third round draw:
