Dundee U v Motherwell preview

Dundee United winger Gary Mackay-Steven is struggling to shake off a calf injury ahead of the Scottish Premiership clash with Motherwell.

United are still without on-loan defender Curtis Good after he had another scan on his hip injury.

Manager Jackie McNamara is already without Calum Butcher, as the defender recovers from a broken toe.

Motherwell talisman James McFadden could return to action against Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday.

McFadden has returned to training following a hamstring injury, but may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Captain Keith Lasley is back from suspension but fellow midfielders Paul Lawson and Stuart Carswell remain on the sidelines.

Defender Simon Ramsden is also out as he battles for fitness after knee surgery, as Motherwell try to secure a place in the Europa League qualifiers with a win.
