Dundee v Kilmarnock preview

Dundee striker Phil Roberts misses out as the club returns to the top-flight of Scottish football with a home match against Kilmarnock.

The summer signing begins a four-match ban following his sending-off for Falkirk towards the end of last season.

Midfielder Kevin McBride is also on the sidelines because of a leg knock, while full-back Gary Irvine hopes to recover from a groin strain.

Scott Bain is also absent as the Dundee goalkeeper is still recuperating following appendix surgery.

Kilmarnock will be without midfielder Jamie Hamill when they travel to Dens Park on Saturday afternoon.

Hamill, who returned to Killie after three years at Hearts, misses out through suspension.

Alexei Eremenko could feature after signing for the club on Thursday but the diminutive playmaker is short of match fitness.

Kilmarnock boss Allan Johnston has several new players to work with and Lee Miller, Paul Cairney, Mark Connolly, Josh Magennis and Tope Obadeyi will all be hoping for competitive debuts for the club.
