Dunfermline v Aberdeen preview

Team news ahead of Wednesday night's Scottish Communities League Cup third-round tie between Dunfermline and Aberdeen at East End Park.

Josh Falkingham should return to Dunfermline's line-up after the midfielder missed Saturday's 4-0 win over Livingston with a virus.

Chris Kane's ankle injury continues to keep him sidelined.

Assistant manager Gerry McCabe believes his side can see off their SPL opponents, saying: "We defeated Aberdeen 3-0 at East End Park in our best home performance of last season, so we can go into the game with nothing to fear.

"They will be tough opponents but being at home is always a good draw to get. They had been struggling to score goals but got three at the weekend, but they also conceded three and that will be a worry for them."

Winger Ryan Fraser is among several fresh injury doubts for Aberdeen.

Manager Craig Brown revealed Fraser was one of a number of players receiving treatment for "bumps and bruises" and the wide player did not train on Tuesday.

Rory Fallon (stomach), Gary Naysmith (hamstring) and Rob Milsom (knee) remain on the sidelines.
