Dutch delight for Del Potro

Julien Benneteau failed to break his title duck, going down in straight sets to Juan Martin Del Potro in Rotterdam.

The Frenchman has been in sparkling form this week with his run to Sunday's clash with Del Potro including wins over top seed and world number two Roger Federer and countryman Gilles Simon.

But he found Del Potro a far trickier proposition, the Argentinian winning 7-6 (7/2) 6-3 to secure his 14th tour-level crown.

Del Potro came into the final having not dropped his serve in the entire tournament and although that record went in the opening set - Benneteau breaking twice - he secured two breaks of his own to take it a tie-break which he claimed with ease.

Benneteau's challenge faded in the second set as Del Potro ran through it to improve on his runners-up finish here 12 months ago when he lost to Federer.
