
Newcastle Eagles made it four wins out of four at the start of the new BBL Championship season with a 91-82 triumph over Manchester Giants.
The league leaders powered into a 50-35 lead by half-time and defended their advantage to the buzzer thanks to 20 points from both Joe Chapman and Charles Smith.
David Watts poured in 26 points for the fourth-placed Giants.
In the night's other game, Tayo Ogedengbe scored 27 points and Duane James 25 as the London Lions picked up their first win of the season with a surprise 95-91 victory over third-placed Surrey Heat.
