Edinburgh: No blame for Naylor
Newport boss Justin Edinburgh refused to blame Tom Naylor despite his two own-goals in the 3-2 loss to Morecambe.
Billy Jones first gave the Exiles the lead with a goal on his debut, firing in a low drive into the bottom corner from Conor Washington's cross.
Newport looked to be in control but a quick counter-attack from the visitors ended with Naylor turning the ball into his own net.
Robbie Willmott edged the hosts back in front but things went from bad to worse in the second half for Naylor. He scored his second own goal of the game before conceding a penalty for a foul on Kevin Ellison that Padraig Amond converted for the win.
Edinburgh said: "We don't like getting beat and certainly not in that manner.
"We got punished for being indecisive in the final third and if you give away goals like that you don't deserve anything from the game.
"It was just one of those days for Tom.
"Everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong but good players bounce back.
"He's been great for us and I have no doubt he will get stronger after that.
"But credit to Morecambe because they've come from behind twice away from home."
