Darren Egan is reported to have escaped serious injury after a nasty incident in the opening race on Derby Day at Epsom.
The young rider was taken for X-rays after being thrown to the ground when the Gerard Butler-trained Star Date fell in the Diamond Jubilee Handicap.
Egan was attended to for some time by the on-course medical team, before leaving the course in an ambulance.
Butler said this evening: "I've just left St George's Hospital now and thankfully all the X-rays and all the scans are fine, which is great news. He should be able to leave hospital tonight.
"Going at that speed it was a nasty fall, but thankfully Darren is OK, which is the main thing.
"The horse is fine. He's a bit stiff and sore but we'll sort him out tomorrow."
