England hockey men face Aussies
England will face hosts Australia in the Champions Trophy's last eight after the 1-1 draw with New Zealand meant they finished third in Pool A.
The line-up for the last eight was confirmed on Tuesday, with India winning the group and Germany coming second.
Mark Gleghorne scored a field goal after 11 minutes to put England ahead against New Zealand in Melbourne, but Phillip Burrows pulled his side level late in the second half.
New Zealand pressed hard for a winner late on, and England head coach Jason Lee was pleased his side withstood the pressure.
"I thought we did well to adapt to the different zonal style of the game," he said.
"Overall, it was a completely different style of hockey to the first two games and we did well to stay in the game, although I felt we actually had enough chances of our own to have won."
While New Zealand finished bottom of the pool with one point, England's third-placed finish set up Thursday's encounter with hosts Australia, who defeated Pakistan to finish second in Pool B with Kieran Govers scoring the only goal of the game.
The Ashes clash is sure to attract attention as some England members will be looking to avenge Great Britain's 3-1 loss to Australia in the bronze medal match at this summer's Olympics.
