English eyes on Lafferty

Sky Sports understands a number of Premier League and Championship sides are keeping tabs on Palermo striker Kyle Lafferty.

Lafferty has impressed for the Serie B club this season and his form has not gone unnoticed among clubs back in the UK.

The Northern Ireland international has scored seven goals in 20 games this term and his performances have been instrumental in helping Palermo to top spot as they look to win promotion back to the Italian top flight.

A host of scouts are thought to have watched Lafferty in Monday's top-of-the-table clash with Empoli, in which the 26-year-old scored in a 1-1 draw.

Several sides are believed to have expressed an interest in signing Lafferty during the January transfer window, and his suitors are thought to be planning moves to sign the former Rangers man in the summer.
