Epsom weathers heavy shower
Andrew Cooper expects the Epsom ground to remain predominately good despite a heavy shower ahead of this afternoon's Investec Derby.
The track has seen a total of six millimetres of rain this morning, with the majority of that falling in a 30-minute spell from 10am to 10.30am.
The Clerk of the course said: "It looks like we have had the worst of the forecast rain and we should be getting better, clearer weather from now on.
"We have had six millimetres in total today, five in that heavy shower, and I would reckon the first word in the new going description will still be good."
Cooper's assertion proved correct following a walk of the track, although the ground is now on the easier side.
He tweeted: "Given @EpsomRacecourse as Good, Good to Soft places. Revised Going Stick 7.5. Generally Good but just odd slower place."
