Exit rumours annoy Cassano

Parma striker Antonio Cassano says he was "annoyed" by rumours linking him with a January return to former club Sampdoria.

The 31-year-old only joined Parma in the summer and has featured 16 times so far for Roberto Donadoni's side in Serie A this season, netting six goals in the process.

Reports in Italy had suggested that a return to Sampdoria, where Cassano spent four years, could be on the cards, but the Italian was quick to dismiss the idea.

"These rumours annoyed me," he told a press conference.

"I have never spoken with Edoardo Garrone (Sampdoria president). I am happy at Parma and I want to remain at Parma.

"I have always said that one day I would like to come back to Sampdoria, but in Parma I am treated like a king. Here I feel really good."

Meanwhile, Parma's sporting director Pietro Leonardi also reiterated that Cassano would be staying put at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.

"Antonio remains. This is a definitive decision he already announced to me on Sunday," he said.
