FA chiefs ask Fergie to explain

The FA has contacted Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson asking him to explain comments made about linesman Simon Beck.

Ferguson branded Beck's performance "shocking" after he failed to flag for what the Scot thought was a "clear penalty" for the visitors when Wayne Rooney went down in the box after a challenge by Steven Caulker in Sunday's 1-1 draw at Tottenham.

The United boss said his club had "history" with Beck following his failure to rule out an offside Didier Drogba goal in 2010 and also claimed that: "There was no way we were going to get a decision from (Beck)."

The FA confirmed on Monday evening that they have contacted Ferguson asking him to clarify his comments. He has until 6pm on Thursday to respond.

Should the FA rule that Ferguson's comments amount to a questioning of Beck's integrity, they will charge the United boss with misconduct and he could be hit with a touchline ban and or fine.

That is accomodating of the FA, to ask why Fergie does not want to see this linesman for the next 18 months or so, and fulfil his wish:)

It had to be Fergie to drive a huge wedge through the F.A's "respect" campaign. Something he hasn't dine with match officials in 20 odd years!

About time every game hounding officials ect he trys to pressure and bully official on the line and by media comments every week as soon as he thinks he been done wrong he screams and shouts about it! Checking his watch for extra time minutes if he needs it to end right on time he should think of all the stuff that go's his way when it shouldn't and all the extra minutes of time he had! Should think himself lucky next time he screams and shouts! It's degusing! Hope the ra come down on him and make a example of him!

Silly Manc! Read the first comment again I sed about media comments which he does all the time! So yes I did write about that and I just added about his shouting and screaming on the line at official which is also out of order and the ra should be taking him to account about it! Also about the watch I added that as man u when needed usual get extra minutes everyone knows it! And when man u need the game to finish you see him looking at watch telling 4th official it's time even sky have noticed! They film him doing it now lol

His nothing but a bully and in turn a cheat! You can see it he tryed to intimidate officials every game now not sometime that should be seen in the game!

See the anti-United brigade are out in force. So all the punishments they wish to mete out to SAF for criticising a linesman (as did Wenger - strange no comments) then as he does not kick ball boys or are you trying to blame him for that- then following your arguments in comparison Hazard life ban from football, Chelsea 50 point deduction and banned from all competition for 5 years - ridiculous ???

And the point of the argument is? Petty idiots who complain about every thing that SAF or United do and ignore the exact same things that happen with just about every manager and club but make no comments on any of them because this only stems from jealousy that United are the best team in England and have been for 20 years

Score: 2

.....and breathe. Calm down! Yeah there are a few other managers that complain, wenger, pardew to name a few but the point is, SAF has had EVERYTHING go his way in terms of descisions over the last got knows how many years and then he has the nerve to compalin when something doesnt go his way. They think they are exempt from things like that. Oh and best team over the last 20 years? Did you win the title every year for the last 20 years? Did you even win it last year? Hmmm

And how many League titles have we won over the last 20 years and how many have all the rest won between them - think that makes us the best team over the last 20 years - would like to win it every year but would be too boring - no? And considering all the decisions that always go our way, sure there are some but there are just as many that go against us (same as all the other teams) - twice Chelsea beat us to the title because of poor refereeing decisions - just as a small example

haha yeah yeah sure, I would pretend it didn't happen too if I was a united fan I suppose, because you have been very lucky to win it the amount of times you have and that's because of dodgy desicions going your way. ha as well as chelsea just being better than you for those 2 seasons. Logic is lost on united fans, I'd bet money you aren't even from manchester, so I won't be back to this. Reply if you like, but I won't be here to read it :)

Typical blinkered view - its only United that get all the decisions, we were so lucky to win etc etc utter rubbish as usual - look at the statistics - no team comes even close to our record over the last 20 years. By the way have been a United fan for 50 years this year and lived through the 70s and 80s when we did not win a title and yes from a United fan, Liverpool were by far the best team in those previous 20 years when Liverpool won 11 titles (not every year) we have won 12 out of the last 20. Used to go to see Best Law Charlton etc when I was young and even watched Utd in the second division when they were relegated in the 70s, unbiased and factual

Mmm no there isn't. There is a reason people call it 'Fergie time' and notice well known lack of desicions that go against united, that's why people bring it up all the time, because it exists. No team gets the special treatment like united. Haha ok, as well as chelsea being better than you for both of those seasons. Logic is lost on United fans, you have been VERY lucky to win it the amount of times you have. I'm not going to waste my time. I won't be back, so reply if you like, i won't be here to read it. :)
