FA to take no action on Suarez

The FA have said that they will be taking no action against Luis Suarez after the Liverpool striker admitted to an act of simulation.

Suarez, speaking to a TV station in Argentina, appeared to suggest that he deliberately dived against Stoke City in the game at Anfield earlier this season in a bid to win a penalty.

The player's interview incurred the wrath of his manager Brendan Rodgers, who has said he will be taking internal disciplinary action against the player, but the governing body will not be getting involved.

Suarez was quoted as saying: "I was accused of falling inside the box in a match, and it's true I did it that time, because we were drawing against Stoke at home and we needed anything to win it.

"But after that everybody jumped out to talk - the Stoke coach and the Everton coach - but the name Suarez sells papers."

In response to the comments, Rodgers said: "I think it's wrong. It's unacceptable. I've spoken to Luis and it will be dealt with internally.

"Diving is not something we advocate. Our ethics are correct. He has been totally understanding on where I am coming from as manager of the club.

"This is a big club and, whatever people do say goes around the world, and what was said was wrong and not acceptable. There is no-one bigger than the club or the club's image."

Mark, are you a liverpool fan?? oh poor old suarez, always being picked on, the man has admitted to cheating and that's not right, I said the same about young and I'm a united fan!! Don't just use the "your racist" card, you don't know me or my beliefs, I'm saying that he's a joke because 1, he's admitting he cheats and 2, now he has how is a ref gonna be convinced he has been fouled and not dived, and just so you know I actually defended suarez in the race row and was disgusted that terry only got what he got

Yes Diane, I agree and I slated him for it too, as well as drogba, bale, young, nani, henry, fellani, anyone who cheats, dives or is trying to win unfairly, you and Mark seem to think this is all a " let's get Suarez, its not, whether your liverpool fans or not, cheating is wrong and he's came out and admitted he's a cheat, you gonna accuse me of picking on Lance Armstrong because he's not from this country?? The man cheated, therefore, Armstrong is also a cheat

Quite honestly Suarez is a joke, along with hundreds more footballers these days. Suarez, Bale, Young etc, and this is nothing compared to the Spanish leagues. The game is being ruined, it's virtually impossible to sit down and watch a game without there being a debate about simulation. The players and the game in general need a large glass of man up. Punishments should definitely be dealt out accordingly for cheating.

he maybe a joke but hes paid to play footie not make people laugh, the media on him gives some other poor b"£$%^&* a break.thats the trouble with our press they can make someone one day and break them the next.once they get tired of suarez antics they will move on to someone else ,we are to blame for buying the rubbish.

I think some people have taken my orginal comment out of context. The man has admitted to diving, diving is cheating and cheaters are a joke. It doesn't matter who the player is. If Van Persie admitted to cheating I would be saying the same thing

Will he dive again after admiting it? he didn't say he was sorry or that he wouldn't do it again. He said Suarez sells papers but didn't mention what st corner.

You need to read the interview to put his comment into perspective. But as usual in this country people are quick to judge and condemn. Even his manager got the wrong end of the story. No surprise that the comment made in the same interview with Suarez clearly states the handball at Mansfield was accidental. But no, let's not tell people the truth or explain the context.
