Fairyhouse on radar for Murphy

Liam Burke has the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday as the target for My Murphy after his fine run at Navan on Sunday.

The eight-year-old was sent off a 7/2 chance for the Grade Two Ten Up Novice Chase, and while he stayed on well after the last eventual winner Foxrock found a timely late burst and was half a length to the good at the line.

Burke is now lining up a return to Navan in mid-March for his stable star, before a probable tilt at the Fairyhouse showpiece.

He said: "He ran well, we were very happy with his run, but the best horse won on the day.

"The plan is to go back to Navan again on March 16 for the novice handicap, and then the Irish National after that all being well."
